Gwillimdale Farms is family owned/operated, based just 10 minutes from downtown Bradford. We here at Gwillimdale Farms do more than just grow vegetables, we are growing our business. We supply our produce both locally and abroad, working in tandem with food manufacturers, retailers, food service providers, and wholesale distributors. We believe our biggest asset is our team. Job Summary

This position will make a valuable contribution to the Canadian food supply. Farm work will be physically demanding and labor-intensive.

We offer certification opportunities and career advancement. We are also willing to train workers who have the desire to learn, our farm hands work full time. Evening and weekend hours vary during planting and harvest seasons.

 Overtime may be required. Work hours may change based on seasonal requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Stone and/or wood harvesting
  •  Hoeing crops
  •  Operating farm machinery and equipment if applicable to skills
  •  Examine the quality of produce/vegetables and prepare for the market
  •  Packing produce for the market
  •  Planting, cultivating, irrigating crops
  • This role requires flexibility in work and adaptability, other tasks can be assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  •  No formal education required

 Pesticide applicator license an asset.

  • (The company will provide a suitable candidate.)

 DZ or AZ license (not required, but nice to have)

Skills: Cultivation experience from agriculture is good to have, however, we provide training for those

with no experience.

Physical requirements:

  •  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  •  Physically demanding
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending.
