The holidays are a time for giving, connection, and community, values that run deep at Gwillimdale Farms. As families gather around warm meals and cherished traditions, it’s also a season to reach out and uplift those who need it most. That’s why this Christmas, we’re proud to partner with WOW Living to help make the holidays brighter for families right here in our community.
At Gwillimdale Farms, we believe that true growth happens when we all come together. Through our partnership with WOW Living’s Christmas Wish List Program, we’re “adopting” 50 families this holiday season, helping ensure that everyone has something to smile about on Christmas morning.
About WOW Living: Inspiring Hope Through Connection
WOW Living is a registered charity with a mission that extends far beyond material support. With a charitable designation for Relief of Poverty, their work focuses on providing individuals and families living in poverty with the tools and resources needed to strengthen stability and build resilience.
At the heart of WOW Living’s philosophy is a simple but powerful idea, poverty is the extent to which an individual does without resources. And one of the greatest resources anyone can have is a positive relationship or role model. That’s why WOW Living’s dedicated volunteer team is considered its greatest asset. By mentoring and supporting guests, the TEAM helps individuals rediscover confidence, build community, and ultimately give back in return, creating a cycle of empowerment that continues to grow.
About the Christmas Wish List Program
The Christmas Wish List Program focuses on supporting individuals, adults, and seniors who are most in need during the holidays, an area where the organization is looking for extra support this year.
Here’s how it works:
- Starting Tuesday, November 4th, participants sign up in person at WOW Living and share up to three gift wishes.
- To qualify, participants must have accessed the organization’s Clothing Room at least twice in the past year, a measure that helps identify those most in need.
- Each adopted individual or family creates a wish list that’s shared with sponsors like Gwillimdale Farms.
- All gifts are wrapped and delivered to WOW Living by December 10th, just in time for a special holiday celebration on December 13th, complete with music, hot chocolate, and festive photo opportunities.
This initiative ensures that families and individuals facing challenges still experience the joy and dignity of the season, a reminder that the true spirit of Christmas lives in acts of generosity and love.
Why Gwillimdale Is Giving Back
Giving back is more than a seasonal tradition for Gwillimdale Farms, it’s part of who we are. Our core value of Unity means staying continuously involved in initiatives that give back to both our local community and the agricultural industry. We’re rooted in this community and believe that the success of our farm is deeply intertwined with the well-being of the people around us.
By partnering with WOW Living, we’re not only sharing in the spirit of the holidays but also helping to strengthen the bonds that make our community thrive. Each wrapped gift is more than a present, it’s a symbol of hope, compassion, and connection.
As WOW Living’s leaders, Jodi and Patti, shared with us, “Every gift tells a family that they’re seen, valued, and cared for. Partnerships like this remind us what’s possible when people come together to love their neighbours.”
From Our Family to Yours
This holiday season, Gwillimdale Farms is honoured to be part of something that brings light and joy to so many. We’re reminded that while crops may grow in our fields, it’s kindness, generosity, and community that truly take root and flourish.
We encourage everyone in our community to find their own way to give back this season, whether it’s through a local charity, a small act of kindness, or a helping hand to a neighbour. Together, we can make the holidays a little brighter for everyone.
From all of us at Gwillimdale Farms, Merry Christmas, and thank you for helping us spread cheer, warmth, and hope where it’s needed most.
Join us in making a difference this season.
