At Gwillimdale Farms, we believe that growth doesn’t just happen in our fields, it happens in our people. That’s why we’re proud to have attended the Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference (AWC) 2025, an inspiring event dedicated to empowering women across all areas of the agriculture industry.
Whether you’re leading a team, building a business, studying agriculture, or simply passionate about the future of food, AWC is designed to help women connect, lead, and thrive. It’s a place where ideas are shared, confidence is built, and lifelong connections are made. For Gwillimdale, being part of this event is more than a professional opportunity, it’s a way to celebrate how far women in agriculture have come and to invest in the future of those still finding their path.
Why We Attend
The Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference brings together hundreds of women from across the country, farmers, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, all with one shared goal: to lift each other up.
For our Gwillimdale team, attending AWC is a chance to:
- Network: Connect with women who are passionate about agriculture, share experiences, and discover new perspectives that strengthen our industry.
- Learn: Participate in workshops and panel discussions focused on leadership, innovation, and personal growth.
- Be Inspired: Hear from keynote speakers and mentors whose stories remind us why we love what we do.
- Celebrate: Reflect on how far women in agriculture have come, and how much potential lies ahead.
Each conversation, session, and shared story is a reminder that agriculture is more than an industry, it’s a community. And when women support women, that community becomes even stronger.
Building Confidence and Connection
At Gwillimdale Farms, we’re passionate about giving back and helping others grow, both professionally and personally. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor the AWC Student Program, an initiative that gives young women studying agriculture the opportunity to attend the conference, connect with industry leaders, and be inspired by a network of women with diverse skills and stories. It’s an incredible opportunity for students to gain confidence, make connections, and find mentors who can help guide them as they begin their careers.
This year, we had the privilege of sponsoring Kirsty Yates; a bright, driven student whose passion for sustainable farming and commitment to addressing food security challenges, both locally and globally, deeply aligns with our own values. During the conference, Kirsty shared, “I believe different perspectives from diverse groups of people are the way forward in agriculture, and women’s voices need to be amplified in such a male-dominated industry.” (Taken from her info shared. Will confirm with her it’s okay.)
Her enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to the future of agriculture are exactly why we continue to invest in programs like this. By sponsoring students, we’re not just supporting education, we’re helping cultivate the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of Canadian agriculture.
Why We’ll Keep Showing Up
Our commitment to events like AWC is rooted in our belief that leadership is about lifting others. It’s about creating space for new voices, fresh ideas, and shared success. For the women of Gwillimdale Farms, and for those still finding their footing, conferences like this are a reminder that growth takes collaboration.
By engaging with the AWC community, we’re not only celebrating progress but also helping to build a more inclusive and connected agricultural industry. Because when we invest in women, we invest in innovation, sustainability, and the future of farming.
